Sand Ryegrass, also known as Elymus arenarius or Leymus arenarius - this ornamental grass is often used in landscaping due to its hardiness and striking silvery-blue foliage. The cultivar "Blue Dune" stands out for its especially vivid blue leaf color and dense, spike-like inflorescences, reaching up to 120 cm in height.
The plant is highly drought-tolerant and frost-resistant. It prefers sunny locations and sandy soils but also grows well in clay. It is used in landscape design as a groundcover plant, in both group and solitary plantings, for decorating rock gardens and alpine slides, and for creating dried floral arrangements.
