Seeds of yellow machka contain up to 35% fatty oil, which is suitable for use in food and for the production of soap. Glaucine hydrochloride is made from raw materials, which is used as an antitussive agent for diseases of the upper respiratory tract and lungs.

The main indicators of the Helios variety according to economically valuable traits: the yield of raw materials in the second year of vegetation is 30.2 centners / ha, seeds - 1.54 centners / ha, the content of the total alkaloids in raw materials is 1.2%.

In general, the variety during the year gives two cuttings of the above-ground mass. On crops of the first year of vegetation, the first mowing is carried out in late July - early August, the second at the end of September, on transitional crops: the first grass mowing is in early June, repeated in August. In the phase of mass flowering, the maximum content of glaucine and a high yield of the total alkaloids per unit area are noted.

The yellow flower «Helios» is mid-season, drought-resistant, winter-hardy and resistant to disease damage. The growing season is 160 days. Biennial development cycle.

The yellow dome is used for urolithiasis, as a diuretic and analgesic. Infusions and decoctions are drunk as a sedative, with asthenia, increased fatigue. Pounded into a gruel, fresh leaves are used as an antibacterial agent and analgesic.
