Watermelon «Rose of the Southeast» - mid-early, long-climbing, drought-resistant variety. The growing season from germination to harvest is 75-80 days. The fruit is spherical, light green with wide dark green stripes, weighing 2-5 kg. The flesh is carmine red with a pink tint, grainy, tender, very juicy and sweet.

It is characterized by good transportability. The keeping quality is average. Relatively resistant to anthracnose and fusarium. Used for fresh consumption.

Watermelon is grown in open ground and greenhouses on light soils. Sowing in open ground is carried out at the end of May. Sowing seedlings - in late April, early May. When the threat of frost has passed, the seedlings are planted in the ground (at the age of 30-35 days, in the phase of 3-4 true leaves) according to the scheme 80x200 cm.

As the plants grow, they form into one stem, removing side shoots, and leaving 2-3 ovaries. Further care consists in watering, fertilizing and loosening.
