Black Nightshade or European black nightshade blackberry nightshade / Solanum nigrum

An annual berry plant of the Solanaceae family. Fruits are black sweet and fragrant berries, ripen in August-October. Ripe berries of black nightshade are eaten. Ripe fruits are eaten raw, they make fillings for pies, make jam, jam and jelly. In young leaves, the content of alkaloids is negligible. In folk medicine, it is used as an expectorant, diuretic and as a remedy for rheumatism.

Leaflets without teeth, oval, but pointed at the end.

Flowers like potatoes. Their petals are white or blue-violet. Seeds are also almost like tomato, only smaller.

The berries are about the size of a medium pea and turn black when ripe. Their taste is difficult to convey in words - a little sweetish, a little sour, have a characteristic smell, not too juicy, but not porridge, very peculiar.
