Vietnamese melon «Gift from Ho Chi Minh Grandpa»

This heat-loving plant does not tolerate high humidity, but it perceives an abundance of light well. Refers to early-ripening varieties, comes into fruiting on the 35th day after germination.

The fruits are mostly oval in shape (up to 10 cm), at the stage of full maturity they have an orange color with yellow stripes. The mass of one melon is 100-250 grams. At this time, the aroma from melons is most strong and fragrant. The pulp is tender, sweet, oily, but with some piquant, sour taste, like pineapple. The color of the pulp is dark orange. The unripe fruit is also tasty, but the sour taste is stronger, something in between, between pineapple, banana and melon.

Suitable for outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. When shaping on trellises, it will become a real decoration of the garden.

Caring for a Vietnamese melon is practically no different from caring for cucumbers.

Recommended planting density: 50 cm between plants and 70 cm between rows. Vietnamese melon is more resistant to bad weather and diseases than ordinary melons, and it also bears fruit until frost.
