It tries to push away everything that the earth-moving pest gets in its way; this is the principle on which the wire live trap mechanism works. Live traps are installed in the earthen passages made by pests - in pairs to block both directions of movement of the pest. The principle of operation is approximately the same as that of a wooden mousetrap, except that the live trap does not require bait, and to catch moles it is installed directly into their holes in your garden or damaged lawn.

To bring the live trap into working condition, you need to compress the spring and secure it with a pin. A charged live trap must be configured so that when you lightly push the lock, the mechanism of the device immediately works.

Since moles have an excellent sense of smell, you should try to eliminate extraneous odors from the trap. To do this, charging and installation should be carried out with clean hands or gloves.

To install live traps for catching moles that have caused damage in your area, you need to place the exit from the hole (mole hole, i.e. where the mole threw the earth out), this requires carefully removing the top layer of earth and digging a small hole, 20 -30 cm wide, and also remove crumbled soil.

After which you will see both holes - the entrance and the exit. Since it is unknown where a mole or other pest will crawl from, a mole trap should be in both tunnels. When inserting live traps into holes, you need to firmly push the device with the entrance ring into the undisturbed part of the move, 4-5 cm, and firmly fix the tail part, the one with the curl of the spring, in the ground. To do this, you need to make a mound of earth in the middle of the hole.

Be sure to make sure that the bottom of the pin does not rest against the ground, because in this case the pest will not be able to push it off. Carefully cover the top of the hole with a board, plywood and then turf or sprinkle with earth so that the pest does not feel fresh air entering the hole.
