Watermelon «Chumak» - this is a mid-season variety, from mass shoots to fruit ripening in the field for 80-95 days, the stem is 2.2-2.7 meters long. Leaf dissected, medium size, dark green.

The fruit is round with an average weight of 3.4 kg in some years from 5 to 6 kg. The surface of the fruit is smooth, the background is white, the pattern is in the form of wide prickly stripes of light green color. Peel of medium thickness. The pulp is pink, dense, juicy, sweet. The content of dry mass in fruits is 10-11%, total sugar - 7.69%, vitamin C - 8.41 mg.

The variety is resistant to overripeness and rotting of fruits, has an excellent presentation. Transportability and keeping quality are high. The variety of watermelon "Chumak" is resistant to gourd aphids, Fusarium wilt. Cold resistant. The taste qualities are excellent.

Watermelon is grown in open ground and greenhouses on light soils. Sowing in open ground is carried out at the end of May. Sowing seedlings - in late April, early May. When the threat of frost has passed, the seedlings are planted in the ground (at the age of 30-35 days, in the phase of 3-4 true leaves) according to the scheme 80x200 cm.

As the plants grow, they form into one stem, removing side shoots, and leaving 2-3 ovaries. Further care consists in watering, fertilizing and loosening.
