SUPERsweet corn «Barcelona» F1 (Daenerys) - high sugar content, very early ripening, excellent keeping quality! Ultra-early 65-68 days), super-sweet Sh2 type hybrid, which contains several times more sugar than regular sweet corn.

The plant is medium-sized, 170-180 cm high. It forms very beautiful, even ears, more than 20 cm long, evenly and densely filled with bright yellow grains. One of the earliest ripening hybrids of supersweet corn. The taste is excellent - it contains more than 22% sugar! It has good shelf life - under appropriate conditions it can be stored for more than 20 days from the date of harvest, practically without losing its taste.

Characterized by increased resistance to diseases and lodging. Perfectly adapted to organic farming. Seeds are sown to a depth of no more than 2.5-3 cm. The most favorable temperature for seed germination is +15-+16 degrees. It is moisture-loving and requires regular watering. Used fresh and for processing.

Why super sweet?

Super sweet sweet corn or Sh2 type corn - shranken:

• the name comes from the appearance of the dried grains - “wrinkled”;
• has a very slow conversion of sugars into starch;
• contains 4-10 times more sugar content than normal Su type sweet corn
• under normal conditions, it can be stored for up to 21 days after collection, but it has the best taste during the first 7 days.

Type of sweet corn and sugar content:

• Normal (Su) - up to 10%;
• Improved (Se) - up to 15%;
• Supersweet (Sh2) - more than 20%;

Type Sh2 of supersweet hybrids is less hardy than the normal and improved types and is more demanding in terms of compliance with growing technology. Therefore, to achieve optimal results, supersweet hybrids will require:

• higher germination temperature - + 12-15ºС. Not less!
• exact seeding depth - 2.5-3cm. No deeper!
• moisture supply is the main condition! irrigation rate 500m3/ha (depending on the amount of precipitation, at least 3-5 irrigations are recommended)
• isolation from all types and types of corn (fodder; popping; sweet corn of normal and improved types).
