Watermelon «Orpheus» - the variety is early ripe, from germination to the beginning of maturation 65-67 days. The fruits are spherical or obtusely elliptical in shape, the surface is smooth, black-green, occasionally dark green, with a waxy coating.

The bark is of medium thickness (10.0-12.0 mm). The flesh is red, tender, juicy, sweet.

The weight of the average fetus is 4-5 kg. Transportability is good. Fruits contain 10.0-11.0% dry matter, 9.0-10.0% sugars, 8.0-8.5 mg% vitamin C.

Watermelon is grown in open ground and greenhouses on light soils. Sowing in open ground is carried out at the end of May. Sowing seedlings - in late April, early May. When the threat of frost has passed, the seedlings are planted in the ground (at the age of 30-35 days, in the phase of 3-4 true leaves) according to the scheme 80x200 cm.

As the plants grow, they form into one stem, removing side shoots, and leaving 2-3 ovaries. Further care consists in watering, fertilizing and loosening.
