Walnut «Ideal» or Persian walnut, English walnut, Carpathian walnut, Madeira walnut / Juglans regia - low-growing variety, does not grow above 4-5 m. The bark is gray, on 2-3-year-old shoots it is brown, on annual shoots it is bluish-green, with slight pubescence. Leaves are pinnate. On vegetative shoots they are arranged spirally, on fruitful shoots they are underdeveloped in the lower part of the shoot, in the form of scales.
The first fruits show already in the 2nd year of life. Good yields can be obtained from the 5th year. Small white flowers with a greenish tinge, collected in a brush of 9-15 pcs. Wind pollinated, dioecious.
Large (on average 10 grams), oval in shape, with a thin shell. The core is light, it is taken out easily. Ripen from September to October.

- Able to grow on acidic or saline soils. Does not tolerate close occurrence of subsoil waters.
Unfortunately, the Ideal variety does not differ in durability compared to traditional forms. If an ordinary walnut is able to live for more than 100 years, then an early-growing one is only about 40-50.
