Whorled sage (ringed) / Salvia verticillata
Semi-shrub, a species of the genus Sage (Salvia) of the Lamiaceae family. Common names: ring sage, salvia. An excellent perennial honey plant, unpretentious to the soil and does not require special care, displaces other plants, suppresses weeds.
It has a long flowering period - from the end of June to the end of August, depending on the region of Ukraine. All this time, it secretes abundant nectar, which is easily accessible to bees. It is transparent, colorless and has no strong odor. The greatest nectar production in hot and humid weather. Each flower on average releases from 0.22 to 1.42 mg of nectar with a high (50-86%) concentration of sugars. In addition to nectar, whorled sage gives pollen to bees.
The total honey productivity reaches 9 kg per hundred square meters. Sage honey is transparent, has excellent taste and aroma.
