Watermelon «Melitopol» - mid-season variety. Vegetation period 80-88 days. Long-braided, the length of the main lash is 3-4 meters. Fruits are round, large, average weight 4-5 kg, sometimes reaches 14-18 kg. The bark is 1-1.8 cm thick, green, with dark green stripes. The pulp of the fruit is red, sweet, juicy, granular.

Productivity up to 400-500 kg per hundred square meters. Very well kept.

Watermelon is grown in open ground and greenhouses on light soils. Sowing in open ground is carried out at the end of May. Sowing seedlings - in late April, early May. When the threat of frost has passed, the seedlings are planted in the ground (at the age of 30-35 days, in the phase of 3-4 true leaves) according to the scheme 80x200 cm.

As the plants grow, they form into one stem, removing side shoots, and leaving 2-3 ovaries. Further care consists in watering, fertilizing and loosening.
