Plum «Pissardi» / Prunus cerasifera «Pissardii» - small deciduous tree 6-12 (14) m tall and 6-12 (17) m wide. Annual growth is up to 25 cm. The crown is dense, broadly ovoid, heavily leafy. Young shoots are reddish, later turning light brown.
The leaves are pubescent, elliptical in shape, reach 7 cm in length, glossy. The upper part of the leaf is reddish-brown with a metallic tint, the lower part is intense red. The color of the leaves does not change in autumn.
It blooms in April, before the leaves bloom, and ends in May, already with leaves. The flowers are pink, up to 2.5 cm in diameter, growing on thin light pink stalks. Towards the end of flowering they become dark red. The stamens are bright crimson.
Fruits abundantly, the fruits are dark cherry juicy drupes, up to 3 cm in diameter, weighing 20-30 g. The stone is elongated-oval. The fruits are edible, ripen in August and remain on the tree until October.
The root system is superficial, well branched.
Location: it is recommended to plant in sunny, warm areas. Requires fertile and well-permeable soils. Can grow in dry areas with regular watering.
