Macedonian oak / Quercus trojana - is a medium-sized tree 10-20 m high, from late deciduous to semi-evergreen. The leaves are grey-green, 3-7 cm long and 1.5-4 cm wide, with roughly serrated edges with pointed teeth. The root system has a strongly developed central root.

The acorns are 2-4 cm long when mature, ripen approximately 18 months after pollination, and are mainly enclosed in a scaly cup of the acorn.

Growing tips

Grown through seedlings. Stratification is carried out in wet perlite for 3-6 months. The temperature during stratification is 5 ° C. The seeds should be soaked for 3 days before planting. Sowing for seedlings can be done throughout the year. The seedling growing period is 3-12 months, the seed sowing depth is 5 cm. Soil acidity is neutral (pH 6-7). Until germination 21-30 days.
