Eggplant prefers sandy loam and loamy fertile soils rich in organic matter. The best precursors are onion, carrot, pumpkin, and legumes. It is grown through seedlings.

Transplanting into the ground is done at the age of 60–70 days, after the threat of frost has passed. Planting density is up to 5 plants per 1 m².
