Rhubarb «Leader» - is an early ripening variety. The period from spring regrowth to the first harvest is 35-45 days. The petioles are thick, juicy, with tender pulp, sweet and sour taste. The petioles are harvested when they reach a length of 20-30 cm. They are grown by sowing seeds in open ground for seedlings. The seedlings are transplanted to a permanent location in the fall or spring of next year.
Rhubarb is a biological source of organic acids, vitamin C and minerals, which are so necessary in the spring, when there are no fresh fruits yet. The petioles are used to make desserts, jelly, compotes and jam.
