Home apple tree / Malus domestica Borkh. - a deciduous tree of hybrid origin, 3-6 or up to 10-14 m or more in height, with a straight strong trunk covered with fissured bark.
The trunk diameter is up to 90 cm. The crown is wide, spreading, less often spherical or ovoid. The shoots remain pubescent for a long time. The buds are ovoid-conical.
Characterized by the presence of shortened shoots - fruitlets.
The leaves are dark green, slightly shiny, pale green below, matte, 5-10 cm long, ovate, with a pointed apex and a rounded, less often slightly heart-shaped base, crenate-serrate, serrate-toothed, sometimes with small notches or doubly serrate; at first pubescent, later almost naked. Petiole no more than 1/3 of the length of the plate.
The flowers are white or pinkish, from 1-2 to 4-5 cm in diameter, in few-flowered inflorescences on short shoots. The sepals of the fruit are preserved, free to the base (not fused).
Blooms in April-June, bears fruit in August-October.
