Tomatillo (Physalis) is the largest genus of plants in the Solanaceae family. Perennial (much less often annual) herbaceous plants with a woody stem at the base. Plants are heat-loving, most practically do not tolerate frost, although there are exceptions.
Physalis fruits have antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, analgesic, diuretic, choleretic effects. Fresh fruits and juice from them are used for diseases of the respiratory tract, hypertension, dermatoses, dysentery.
